Lt. Col. Robert Stith, USAF (Retired)
Bob Stith is the founder of the Kentucky Safety Academy and a U.S. Air Force veteran with 25 years of distinguished service as a C-130 navigator and instructor.
With more than 40 years of experience as a firearms enthusiast, shooter, and instructor, Bob brings extensive practical knowledge across a broad spectrum of firearms. His experience includes semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and black powder firearms. He is deeply committed to teaching responsible firearm ownership, with a strong focus on safe handling, proper maintenance, and effective shooting techniques.
Bob is a certified Instructor through the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), the National Rifle Association (NRA), and a certified Instructor Trainer through the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice. His guiding principle – “First in Firearms Safety” – is more than a motto; it is the foundation of every course, lesson, and training program delivered by him and the Kentucky Safety Academy instructional team.

Patrick Baker
Patrick is a seasoned first responder with more than 15 years of service in fire and emergency medical services. He has served with the Bullitt County Fire Service as a Captain and Assistant Fire Marshal and currently works as an EMS Advanced EMT (AEMT) Sergeant with Jefferson County.
Patrick holds numerous Kentucky state certifications and technician-level qualifications, including Firefighter Basic Level II, Certified AEMT, Fire Inspector and Investigator, and advanced rescue specialties such as hazardous materials, swift water, confined space, and trench rescue. He is also trained in TEMS, TCCC, and Rescue Task Force operations.
A certified American Heart Association instructor since 2014 and a Stop the Bleed® instructor, Patrick is dedicated to public education and practical, hands-on training. He teaches AHA CPR, AED, and First Aid courses for both BLS Provider and HeartSaver programs, with a focus on real-world readiness and lifesaving skills.
